God and His Children

I had the opportunity to attend the baptism of my Ate's son (Ate Joy is not really my sister,we're just relatives and calling someone "Ate" would always be a sweet way of showing respect..). She told me to take some pictures of her son later. So I agreed and jumped right away.

When I arrived at the church, I saw a lot of people attending tha mass and I suddenly remembered my Mama's constant reminder, "Don't miss the mass every Sunday..." It has been quite sometime since I went inside the church, yet I know I'm not that faraway from Him. (Feeling close..laughs) Yes, I am...beacause I always pray and thank Him for everything everyday.

By the way, this post is not one of those preaching stuffs and Biblical teachings. I am just sharing what I realized during the activity.

As what I have noticed, there were a lot of things the priest said, an frankly, people can't understand him. He was like murmuring something when he read his lines. Maybe my observation can be considered because he was a foreign priest trying to deliver a local dialect.

I couldn't remember anything when I was trying to recall my experience of being baptised, but I'm sure I was poured with Holy Water and placed with some cross-marked symbol on my head. People believed that baptisim will cover us with divine protection from the Lord which will later take effect as we grow older. For me, I'm not really sure. But, I do believe that it will help us strengthen our will to do what we have to with God's assistance. He exists. No matter what religion you are in, as long as you believe on someone who is above everything, that would be the real deal.

On the brighter side, these things will draw us closer to our families. Being a Christian is not a ticket to salvation, but a chance to belong in a community as we live our lives and as we take the journey to our destiny... not alone but with others.
